Can you keep your floors clean when you have a crawling toddler?

Можете ли да поддържате подовете чисти, когато имате малко дете, което пълзи?

Can you imagine touching the floor and then directly touching your mouth? We are sure you wouldn’t do it consciously, but for little ones – this is a daily routine.

Young children explore the world with their hands and mouths. They have no inhibitions and are not concerned about things like bacteria or dirt. For them, the floor is just another territory to explore. Any dropped food, toy, or leftover from play can become a source of interest.

But does this mean you need to clean surfaces every day? Yes, regular cleaning is essential, but equally important are the cleaning products and methods used. In this article, we at Probioaction.bg will share how you can protect your children’s health.

What are your priorities when you have a baby?

It doesn’t matter if you have a baby just learning to crawl or a curious toddler. Children spend a significant amount of time on the floor, playing and exploring their surroundings.

No matter how much you try to control them – they constantly try to put various objects in their mouths. Every crumb, dust particle, or microscopic contamination can become a potential health risk.

That’s why floor hygiene is extremely important for every parent. But this isn’t about making surfaces visually clean – it’s about creating a safe environment. This means using effective methods and products that are NOT based on harmful chemicals while eliminating bacteria, pathogenic microorganisms, and allergens.

Child crawling after using safe cleaning products

Considering the dynamic and often unpredictable daily routine, the priorities can be summarized as:

  • Effective removal of dirt – even if the floor looks “visibly clean,” its surface is home to numerous bacteria, viruses, and dust mites. They are invisible to the eye but dangerous for babies.
  • Use of safe cleaning products – choose those without harmful chemicals, toxic residues, or strong fragrances that could irritate your child.
  • Quick and easy cleaning – products should clean deeply and work quickly and reliably, without taking up your valuable time.

What are the specifics of floor cleaning?

Whether you have natural parquet, tiles, granite, or laminate, each surface has its own structure, which inevitably changes over time. Even when the material appears perfectly smooth, it has microscopic cracks, pores, and irregularities.

Their appearance can be due to various reasons – from natural aging and mechanical wear from walking to chemical reactions caused by cleaning products. Once formed, these micro-cracks gradually expand over time, forming “pockets” that trap fine dust particles, grease, organic residues, and dirt.

A classic example is black tiles, which over time develop white spots. When washed with water, it temporarily fills the cracks and the surface looks perfectly clean. But once dry, the dirt hidden in depth reappears.

These microscopic cavities are an ideal environment for bacteria, fungi, and pathogens. Once inside, they are difficult to remove with regular cleaning because brushes and cloths only clean the surface.

As a result, the floor may appear clean on the surface but can still pose a potential health risk for children at a deeper level.

Can you really keep it clean?

One limitation of conventional cleaning products is that they mainly act on the surface. Liquids, especially those with chemical components, undergo condensation and do not penetrate the micro-cracks and pores of the material. Cleaning with them is only visual, as dirt and bacteria remain intact in depth.

Alcohol-based disinfectants have an additional drawback – they evaporate very quickly. Their effect lasts only a few minutes, and within 2–3 hours the surface is again populated with bacteria.

Although they destroy microorganisms, over time the more resilient ones develop resistance to their strong action. This leads to the emergence of so-called “superbugs,” which persist and multiply without competition. They form complex structures called biofilms – a protective matrix with “memory” signaling the presence of a threat to avoid.

This makes traditional cleaning and chemical disinfection not only short-term but potentially ineffective in the long run.

Is there a way to protect your baby?

Absolutely YES! We at Probioaction.bg have a mission – to help you create a clean and safe environment for your children.

Our product, Floor probiotic, is a probiotic floor cleaner. It has a 100% natural and organic composition, containing beneficial probiotic bacteria.

What is the difference?

Unlike aggressive disinfectants, it does not indiscriminately destroy all bacteria, but uses the properties of probiotics. They work on the principle of competitive exclusion, depriving pathogens of resources and nutrients.

In this way, they not only displace pathogens but completely suppress their spread. Additionally, they can penetrate the biofilm matrix and reach deep into micro-cracks, where conventional products cannot reach.

After cleaning with Floor probiotic, beneficial bacteria form a probiotic biofilm that serves as a natural protective layer. It is far more effective and long-lasting than disinfectants and works in cycles. During the first 2 days, probiotics grow; the next 4 days, they work actively; and on the 7th day, they die off.

With regular use, a constant balance is maintained, creating a healthy microflora and preventing the recolonization of pathogens.

What does this mean?

Probiotic cleaning products are a COMPLETELY SAFE alternative to standard cleaners. Their organic composition makes them suitable for little ones who are just beginning to crawl and explore the world around them.
